The Story Behind KindRoots
My name is Lynzie Moore.
I am a Somatic Artist & Facilitator, mother, and lifelong student of creativity, nature, and human connection.
As I reflect on my journey, I realize creativity was woven into my life long before I understood the role it would play. As a little girl, my grandmother recognized something in me and gently nurtured my creativity. She encouraged me to paint, imagine, and express myself, planting seeds that would one day become a way back to myself. At the time, neither of us could have known that creativity would become a companion through some of life's deepest seasons of grief and the path that would lead me back to light, self-gratitude, and presence.
At ten years old, I reluctantly entered one of those paintings—Blue Mountains—into an art competition at a local Michigan college. To my surprise, it received first place. Looking back, I realize that little girl wasn't simply learning to paint; she was learning to trust herself.
As life unfolded, I stepped away from creating. Seasons of grief, caregiving, loss, and simply surviving slowly pulled me away from the part of myself that felt most alive. My heart became heavy, and my brushes sat untouched while I focused on caring for everyone else.
Years later, I found my way back.
Art became more than something I created—it became a way home.
As I returned to creating, I was reminded once again of the power of being truly seen. My grandmother's brother commissioned a one-of-a-kind frame for one of my paintings as a gift. It wasn't simply a frame—it was a profound expression of love, encouragement, and belief in who I was becoming. I remember crying as I realized how deeply he believed in me and in the journey that had brought me back to creativity. His gift became a reminder that sometimes another person sees our light before we're able to see it ourselves.
With every brushstroke, journal entry, quiet walk through nature, and moment of reflection, I began remembering myself. I rediscovered gratitude for the life unfolding around me and learned the gift of becoming fully present. What once helped me navigate my own journey has now become the heart of the work I share with others.
That journey became KindRoots.
As a Somatic Artist, I believe creativity is more than making something beautiful. It is a way of listening—to our bodies, our stories, our experiences, and the wisdom we often overlook in the busyness of life. Through creativity, nature, reflection, and meaningful community, we create space to reconnect with ourselves.
Today, I facilitate experiences that weave together art, vision boards, journaling, tea, nature, conversation, and reflection. Whether we're creating, walking the shoreline, or simply sitting together in quiet conversation, my hope is that each person leaves feeling more grounded, more connected, and more at home within themselves.
I believe creativity belongs to everyone. It isn't about making perfect art—it's about remembering who you are, practicing self-gratitude, becoming present, and discovering that the smallest moments often hold the deepest meaning.
Thank you for being here. It is an honor to share this journey with you, and I hope our paths cross soon.
Come create, connect, and remember yourself.
Yellow. Hope.
View. Growth.
